This morning at around 7AM on the receding tide, Brad Waggoner and I observed a juvenile HUDSONIAN GODWIT, originally discovered yesterday by the Denny's. Some photos are posted on www. flickr.com/photos/isacoff. Also in the flock of about 800 Marbled's was a worn adult BAR-TAILED GODWIT, possibly the same bird I located at Tokeland yesterday (poor photo posted). Also at Bottle Beach, 4 RED KNOTS, 2 adults and 2 juveniles.

On to Hoquiam STP, we relocated the STILT SANDPIPER and AMERICAN AVOCET reported earlier but the Franklin's Gull was not around for us. There was however a MEW GULL. Some sea watching at Pt. Brown Jetty yield many thousands of Shearwaters and a nice bonus POMARINE JAEGER. Ocean Shores Game Range had mind boggling numbers of shorebirds, mostly Westerns, but notables included: LONG-BILLED CURLEW, RUDDY TURNSTONE, STILT SANDPIPER and PECTORAL SANDPIPERS along with all the usual suspects.

Other notables of the past 2 days were an early female LAPLAND LONGSPUR at Bottle Beach seen Sunday evening and a SOLITARY SANDPIPER at Midway Beach yesterday. Couldn't really ask for a better few days out.

Good birding,
Jon Isacoff, Spokane
