a week ago, a paper was published in the top-notch journal, science,
that investigated which life history traits are most likely to be
found in invasive species. this paper used data from historic bird
introductions to better understand this complex question, and it found
that the most successful invasives are not those species you'd
probably suspect. further, the study uncovered a relationship between
invasive species' life history traits and those species that will
probably be most threatened by global climate change, if you'd like to
