This morning I found some nice shorebirds around high tide (8-9am) on my weekly Discovery Park walk. First, at north beach were a Sanderling, Western Sandpiper and a Least Sandpiper together in a group. As reported yesterday by Michael Fleming, south of the lighthouse were 3 Semipalmated Plovers, and 12 or so each of Western Sandpipers and Least Sandpipers. Also, Evening Grosbeaks were all over the park. A pretty good time to see some shorebirds at Disco. Link to ebird checklist with poor photos:?http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S11422073.
