Hello, The Buff-breasted Sandpiper was seen Friday afternoon at 4:40 PM and again at 6:45 PM (photographed) at the Ocean Shores Game Range. It was last seen at 7:20 PM by Christina, Bob Morse and Lotus Elrod at the pond at the end of Tonquin Street. It seems to prefer the south edge of the pond. Walk around the east side of the pond to an area south of the large log lying in the pond. It is often seen in the mud flats in this area at high tide or nearby grasses. Last night it was in a flock of sandpipers but often at the edge of the flock. The sandpiper flocks near the pond were being hunted by a Peregrine Falcon which put them in constant motion while we were there. Thanks to Sherry Hagen for her updates on the bird.
