Hey Tweets!

It seems like a year or so ago, I heard a very distant call from a Western Scrub-Jay, but never located the bird from my home in Renton. Yesterday I had one calling and then flying over the yard - the first one I know of visiting the neighborhood in the 5 years or so that I've been watching. We also had quite a few Cedar Waxwings and Evening Grosbeaks passing through.

Earlier in the week, at different points on the Soos Creek Trail with the kids, we had a Pileated Woodpecker land on a tree right in front of the kids, and actively calling Virginia Rails.
