Someone was asking recently about where to spot a Green Heron.
My wife and I took a walk this Sunday morning along the Green River in Kent,
downstream of the Meeker Street Bridge and Riverbend Golf Course, and where
the river makes a big bend we saw a Green Heron sitting on a snag out in the
middle of the river, posing very nicely for us. It was gone when we walked
back. This is the first time we've seen a Green Heron in that location, but
they are elusive birds and usually hard to spot. When I've seen Green
Herons before they are usually in the bushes along the river, but this one
was sitting out in the open at about 10 a.m.

Good birding!
