Tweets, The BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was observed Monday evening (and
reported from earlier in the day) at its advertized location, Oyhut Game
Range in the "drier" fringe to the W of the tidal pond accessed from Tonquin
St. in the south Ocean Shores area. Other notable species seen during mostly
cursory scans in the waning daylight: STILT (1), SEMIPALMATED (1), BAIRD'S
(1, possibly 3), and good numbers of PECTORAL Sandpipers. The shorebird
hoard was periodically harassed by a PEREGRINE. The AVOCET was seen earlier
in the day on the divider causeway at the Hoquiam STP. Good birding!
