Hi all -
While enjoying views of the Wilson's Plover this morning, a local stopped to ask if I was looking for the bird that was in the paper.
I don't know if this is the same thing he was referring to, but here's a link to a photo and note by Mike Denny in the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin: http://union-bulletin.com/photos/2012/aug/28/7955/

Bruce Labar & I enjoyed views in the morning both while it was across the water on the spit, and eventually nearly at our feet near the boat launch. In the course of 2 hours it alternated between those two areas -- might be helpful to focus there if you go looking. When it was at closest to us, it was remarkably hard to find -- did a great job of blending in with the rocks. Watching it forage from across the water was in some ways easier!

Thanks Mike & Merry Lynn!
