Hi all...For those of you planning on coming out to Ocean Shores this
coming weekend, may I offer a few words...bring boots! The muck is not
only deep in spots out on the Oyehut Game Range, it is also slippery.
Another point are the tides...Sat low tide is at 7:51am and high is a
9.2 at 2:19pm, Sun low is 8:26am and high is again a 9.2 at 2:51pm,
and Mon's low at 8:59am and another 9.2 high tide at 3:23pm. The high
tides will ensure the game range mud is even muckier...and the path
into the ponds from the Tonquin access may be a bit hazardous. If you
want an easier and better access, try walking in from the access
farther east on Marine View Dr, across from the cement water tower.
Walk out onto the beach and turn right, walking on the hard-packed
sand until you are parallel to the white radar facility to your right.
If you access the ponds from this angle you will have the sun behind
you as well as avoiding clambering over logs with expensive equipment.
Other than that, hope to see you out there!

Good birding!
