Hi Tweets,

When you wake up expecting pouring rain all day and see sun instead in W. WA, that means it is time to get outside. Bruce LaBar and I made another trip out to look for the Northern Waterthrush on the Foothills trail south of Orting, but no luck with any birds. It was dead quiet. Did stop at Spooner Farm own the way back and counted 45 Trumpeter Swans today.

Best bird of the day was an immature Northern Shrike on N Levee Rd and 76th Ave E. It was in the tree next to the pull out in front of a pond with a sidewalk around. This is on the north side of the Puyallup River.

At Gog-le-hi-te on the Tacoma tide flats we had a group of 8 Yellow-rumped Warblers, no Slaty-backed Gull (although we didn't look, very hard ), and a Varied Thrush.

Good Birding,
