It's been two weeks since I last went to see the Snowys at Nisqually so I can't absolutely verify that they are still there. ?The best viewing location is Luhr's Beach Nature Center which is a state that looks back toward the outer Nisqually observation tower from the water side. ?When they are open you can view from inside out of the rain and they also have their own scope if you don't have one. ?This is a very long look from something like a mile away. ?You will be able to ID the owls though. ?When I was there there were 5 owls in sight at once. ?They sit close to the ground usually on logs or stumps. They were all close to the water and looking back to your left of the observation tower but they do move around and have been seen over on the Luhr Beach side. ? At the distance give everything a second look. ?If the weather isn't perfect you could mistake one for ?a gull although they sit much more upright. ?The Nature Center is open Wed, Sat,
and Sun 12-4 PM. ?The # is 360-459-0387 if you want to call to verify first. ?They are very?knowledgeable and love to talk birds. ?It's worth a trip even without the owls. ?You need an Access Pass for Luhr's Beach. ?The address for GPS/Google is 4949 D'Milluhr Rd NE. ?The web address is www.nisquallyestuary.org.?

Two were also reported from the outer end of the new boardwalk a week ago but they were also at a distance. ?The actual end of the new boardwalk and it's observation area is closed for duck season I believe it's for the last 700 ft but you can still go out a long way. ?

?I am a new birder and am very interested in seeing the Snowy Owls. I don't know where some of the places mentioned on here might be. Coming from Ridgefield Washington, where might be my best chance to see them and is there a time of day that is best??
