Now that our attention has gone from the big, mostly flightless bird to the
sales, it is time to seriously consider the CBC's. The Grays Harbor CBC is
scheduled for Saturday, Dec 29th, and I have only heard from a few people,
so unless I hear from a heckofa lot more of you soon, I will be sending out
e-mails to each of the "team captains" of the count circles.

For those of you who have not heard the news, National Audubon has decided
to do away with the obligatory $5.00 fee, asking only for donations. They
are also doing away with the hard copy of the publication of the CBC
results, making it available online to those who want it.

So let us hear from all of you who consider yourselves hard-core
birders...willing to brave the elements for the grand cause. This is a fine
Christmas tradition with no politics or religion, just the desire to spend
the day with good friends, new acquaintances, and the excitement of seeing
and counting as many birds as we can. It is also an interesting way to
determine what is going on with our feathered friends, what is thriving,
what isn't....and there are always the Snowy Owls to see once again.

Please join us; we think you will be glad you did so.
