Subject: [Tweeters] my RFI on bird sound devices

Dear Tweeters,
?
Thank you all for the wonderful advice about bird-song devices.
?
So far, I have read about i-touch, i-pod, birdjam, smartphone, Tascam products, Gophone, and identiflyer. They all sound intriguing.
?
As some of you guessed, the reason I don't want a smart phone is because I don't want to become one of "those people" who are always walking around, looking at a device in their hand, sliding their finger across a little glass plate. There's something about that sort of thing that wigs me out.
?
Well, that said, if anyone out there has further suggestions, I would love to hear them!
?
Thanks again.
?
Of course, knowing how tortoise-like I am about adopting technologies, I might be thinking of Christmas 2013 before I make up my mind! But don't
let that stop you from sending more suggestions--off-list is fine!
?
Yours gratefully,

Gary Bletsch
