Saw a hybrid I never expected even existed at the Montlake Fill today:? an apparent Mallard X Wood Duck.? I'm not a camera-toter, but this image is very nearly the same bird, except that the fill bird has a richer brown back and a hint of yellow/orange eyering.? The bird is hanging out with a half-dozen or so Wood Ducks (one hen of which he's clearly very attached to,) in the lagoon just west of the SW pond.
