To echo Patti Loesche's earlier message, and answer Matt Bartel's implicit question, there really are TWO snowies in the same neighborhood.? I went out yesterday AM and found both in rapid succession:? one at 32nd & 75th, the other around 34th & 71st.? Both are apparent females, both were leaning on the leeward side of chimneys.
The neighbors seem just as excited about it as the birders.? I think Harry Potter did more to foster interest in and goodwill towards owls than all the birders combined, but it's still a great opportunity for us to "come out" and recruit, recruit, recruit!
