Dear Tweeters,
Scott Downes relocated a Snowy Owl at the corner of Reecer Creek Rd. and Lower Green Canyon Rd. in Ellensburg this morning (12/16). As of 11:30 AM, the Owl was still present, perched on a pile of rocks on the east side of Lower Green Canyon Rd. about 1/4 mile south of Reecer Creek Rd. This owl was first reported off-list on or about 12/9 with scant location details. I was able to obtain "witness quality" photos, but anyone with a reasonable lens should be able to get fantastic photos of this bird. The reduced barring and extensive white bib suggest that this is a male bird.

Additionally, on yesterday's Ellensburg CBC, my group located a lone Bohemian Waxwing on the campus of Central Washington University. The Waxwing was along the irrigation canal running through campus, just north of the Japanese Garden.

Cheers,
