The WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH was at Harry Todd Park on American Lake in Lakewood this morning.

The bird was with Red-breasted Nuthatches at the intersection of N. Thorne Lane SW and Woodlawn St SW, just inside the park fence.

Subject: [Tweeters] White-breasted Nuthatch - Pierce County TAS ChristmasCount

Hi Tweets,

Quick note on a White-breasted Nuthatch seen on the TAS Christmas Bird Count, 12/15/12. The bird was found on American Lake at Harry Todd Park. The bird was seen well, within 20', on a large Oak Tree and Douglas Fir just off the boat ramp going down to the lake, in the middle of the grass hill. Wayne Sladek found the bird and photographed it for the group.

Also of note all along American Lake were Varied Thrushes at every stop. Found 33 for the day and over 70 were reported in Point Defiance alone.

Good Birding,
