Hi, birders, We had 23 participants out in the field Sat. Not much snow
on the ground, but we were snowed on before the day ended. Our total
species numbered 93. (The highest we've ever had is 101.) One new bird
was added, a Lincoln's Sparrow. We only had one count week bird, a
Brown-headed Cowbird!

The more unusual species seen inc. Snow Goose, Greater-white Fronted
Goose, Double-crested Cormorant, Wilson's Snipe, Western Grebe, Barn Owl,
Canyon, Pacific, Marsh and Bewick's Wrens, Western Bluebird, Meadowlark,
Gray-crowned Rosy Finch , Common Redpolls and Red Crossbills. Hope all of
the remaining counts have great turnouts and wonderful birds! Meredith
Spencer, Bridgeport
