YES!! And thank you so much Ann Marie. I wonder if you would post the following text for me on Washington Birding news ... or tweeters?
This morning?I arrived to the dirt track at about 815 am?(nearly first light). The night before the area experienced heavy snow, I won't soon forget the drive I experienced through the dark?from Sidney to Courtenay, rain, wind, snow, etc. I parked and walked (as others have suggested) up the dirt track ... past the cable blocking the road. The cable across the road is just inside a small forest patch surrounded by farm fields on all sides. I walked to the other edge of the patch, a few paces from the cable. That was it, the bird was immediately on my right, in a marshy area along the road?partially covered in snow. It was often too close for my scope! A beautiful and much welcomed encounter after the drive i made the night before.?I strongly recommend rubber boots, and warm socks! Trumpeter swans all around, snow geese, eagles, etc. the area is a birding paradise ... but very wet?and snowy at the moment.?I'm absolutely indebted? to two birders from Birding News for sharing details with me ... these kind birders led me right to the bird! Thank you!
Thanks again Ann Marie.
