You may also want to join the Mothing and Moth-watching on Facebook if you
an FB fan. There is an incredible array of skilled lepidopterists and
photographers in the group. Some of them are the experts who oversee the
various families/genera of moths on bug guide that Dan mentioned. There are
also great moth photographers in that group. However, contrary to popular
belief, I must warn you that not all moths can be identified from photos.
Many species within genera and even families are so similar, that they can
only be identified by examining the genitalia of the insect.
