Who can tell me what the significance of the yellow and blue
radio-telemtry(?) bands/collars are on these Roosevelt Elk? Who is
monitoring them and why? Photo taken on the Sequim-Dungeness
CBC (12/17/2012) in the farm field near the intersection of Schmuck Rd. &
Port Williams Rd., Sequim, Clallam Co., WA. Link:

These are presumably "wild" elk that come down off of the higher elevations
of the Olympic Range to graze in these lower-elevation fields.
