Today saw a bird at the Montlake Fill I could not id. The size was hard to determine since there were no other birds with it, but it was not a large bird, at most robin size. I was on the Wahkiakum Lane past Franklin Lane after you enter near the CUH buildings. It was on the right side near some water in a place where there are shrubs and trees on both sides of the path. It was mostly medium brown and a rather stocky bird with a round head and short neck. The bill looked like a Black-bellied Plover bill, black, straight, pointed and somewhat thick. It?s throat looked yellow. It had creamy edges to the wing feathers and a thick,long, creamy bar on each wing. The wings were short, the tail notched. The closest I could come to an id was some sort of oriole.

The bird headed South through the vegetation.
