Spent almost 3 hours looking for the loon, from about 8:15 until 11:00 without success. I did not see any Pacific Loons either, but did see several Commons above the dam and numerous below the dam. Eric Heisey and his mom Diane Liebe joined me for about an hour and a half to search. The best bird of the morning was a female type Red-breasted Merganser in Getty's Cove. I'll be back to the area this coming Sunday (December 30th) for one last visit in 2012 and will report if I find the bird. It is possible that the bird continued south and it might be worth somebody looking on Priest Rapids lake for the bird.
