Subject: [Tweeters] Wishful for Snowy Owl in Wedgwood

About 4:oo yesterday, Christmas, we heard many crows and saw them flying to seemingly a certain spot. They were flying north as if an all points bulletin was issued, rather than the northwesterly direction they seem to go to roost. This got my curiosity up - wondering if possibly they might be harassing something - hopefully a Snowy Owl? (heavy on the hopefully).

Well, I got my camera and stepped into my clogs and headed in the direction of the ruckus. Before I could get to the street, my feet were up in the air and I was coming down, flat on my back (luckily not my head) and heard the camera hit at the same time. My husband saw me land but I was up (hoping no one else had seen this acrobatic maneuver) with my adrenaline in full swing, still wanting to find the source of the crow noise. Only one more street, I saw several lingering crows, but what was there was now gone (or hidden) or the crows were just wishing each other Merry Christmas.

The moral of this short anecdote is never run in clogs with no tread on wet moss. (And noisy crows don't always lead to a Snowy Owl in the bush).

Luckily camera seems to be fine - body still recuperating. I'll try to find the Ballard Snowy in a day or two - in hiking boots.
