Tweets, Monday after an airport run I stopped at Gog-le-hi-te Wetlands off
Lincoln St in Tacoma, must have just missed the Slaty-backed Gull reported
by Carol Riddell. I found the WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH that's been reported
at Harry Todd Park in Tillicum. It was in the cluster of large oaks on the
slope to the boat launch at 3:45 (but not my first try at around 3:00),
with no nuthatches present, just yellow-rumps. Up Thorne Lane two or three
houses (east) from its intersection with Woodlawn St (NE corner of the
park) there is a feeder attracting many chickadees and nuthatches, so the
bird may show up there.
On Capitol Lake in Olympia a short distance south of Marathon Park on
Saturday was a cool looking Eurasian Wigeon with a brush stroke of rusty
red through the yellow-cream crown stripe.
