Hello Tweeters.
I was thinking how nice it was during the big storm we had,to birdwatch in
you warm home seeing all the many birds ,even as close than my PATIO.I was
so fortune that I HAD POWER.IT IS REALLY AMAZING HOW Birds act so
energetic,as if this is there last Meal.I ENDING UP WITH 9 SUET FEEDERS &
ONLY 2 SEED Feeders, THIS YEAR IS A BIG YEAR FOR THE MANY TOWNSEND'S
WARBLERS& the many as 15 YELLOW -RUMPED WARBLERS.But the downside on the
Varied Thrushes are HUGE,from A HIGH COUNT ON 18 IN the early nineties,to
this 2 birds male & Female.THE REST OF BIRDS ARE OK,as the Towhee ,Finches
,Red-breasted Nuthatches ,both Chickadees The Oregon Junco,Downy WOODPECKERS
.,
Steller's JAY, NORTHERN FLICKERS.\, ON OCCASION WE GET Cedar Waxwing
&Hermit Thrushes.we HAVE ONLY 1 SONG SPARROW (iF WE GET SPARROWS ON RARE
OCCASION 1 white Crown & maybe 1 Golden CROWN SPARROW We DID had 0n 3
OCCASION THE WHITE -THROATED SPARROW,
RIGHT NOW I got many Pin Siskin ,REPLACING THE HOUSE FINCHES.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ACCIPITERS,.IT IS THE COOPERS HAWK,FORGOT To mention the
many chickadees (both species evenly)
I GET UP AT 7.00 am and birds start coming to the feeders,The open feeders
being put outside There are 3 cages SQUIRREL PROOF,WHO HANGING DURING THE
NIGHT OUTSIDE.I also have NO RATS and NO squirrels.
My yard got badly damaged during the storm, hardest hit was one of my huge
Birch Tree,in front yard,8 big branches I LOST
In the BACKYARD THE BIG THUNDERED PLUM tree I lost 10 big branches,This Tree
attract the most birds there feeding already now on the pinkish butts. I get
some help with this tree, since the cracked branches did not fallen down,
Also I HAVE A NEW BIRD IN MY YARD( THE EASTERN RACE PURPUREUS.The BIRD IS AN
Adult male.he is striking purple like our Purple Finch, but he has a lot of
bright pink in his plumage and THE SUPERCILLIUM.I been trying for three day
to get A Photo,he strictly feeds on one of the long tubfeeders sunflower
Seed.He likes the bird Bath taken a bath twice daily
I feel so fortune that I AM A BIRDER!!!!my PHOTOS OF THE Ross's Gull being
published either in Birdying ore in "Winging IT".Cheers Ruth Sullivan
