Hi All,

Highlights of the afternoon near Stanwood (bird, and other) can be
found in the photo captions and in this short synopsis:

First stop & highlights: 2:30-3 p.m. at end of Boe Rd - Snowy Owl
seen to the north, Redtail on utility pole, Tom & Linda Ahlers, great
mt. view of Cascades

Final stop & highlights: 3:15-6 p.m. at end of Thomle Rd (parked at
single metal shed) - a lot of Snow Geese up & down in field, Bald
Eagles hunting the geese, Short-eared Owl flying the field, 3 Snowy
Owls on dike on trees and driftwood, in field and flying, a Rough-
legged Hawk on a small tree, 10 birder/photographers looking from dike
to west, Tom & Linda sharing tales of Peregrines and Dunlin and other
things from their times over on Eide Rd., James T. Jones,
photographer, who shared some great Snowy shots, the 4 of us helping
each other find the 3 Snowy Owls that appeared around 5 p.m., the
chasing off of a Short-eared Owl by a Snowy at 5:40 and a super sunset
sky.
