The weather was just too nice. Temperatures in the mid-50's,
stiff wind from the east. It always seems to be harder to
find stuff in weather like this. We went across the river to
Pacific Co. in the hopes of seeing raptors and loons.

Best bird of the day was a big male RIVER OTTER marking his
territory at Chinook Boat Basin.

We put in quite a bit of time looking for the Yellow-billed
Looon at Ilwaco without success. Overall loon numbers there
were disappointing.

We chatted with a local land owner who told us a SNOWY OWL
has been seen off and on along Chinook Dike Rd which is sort
of in the middle of Chinook Valley. He said he saw it yesterday.
We did not see it.
