Yellow-Billed Loon (looks like first year bird) up close in the water next
to Crane/boat launch (south side of marina - access along drive along east
side) from 7:30am to 8:30am, later seen out in the Marina. A very
successful crabber - this gluton was chowing down on tiny crabs pulled up
quickly on every dive- one every 3-4 minutes. One friendly Red-throated
Loon swam rapidly over to the bank to check us out while keeping an eye on a
redtail cruising overhead. Excellent to get full frame images of these
Loons, which I find are usually less tolerant of people nearby.

Two Common loons kept their distance.

There were several Red-necked Grebes and several Horned Grebes working the
east end of the Marina. An excellent morning.

No Loons at Woodland Bottoms late in the afternoon. Absolutely no
waterbirds between the railroad bridge and the Columbia.

Pictures posted tomorrow.
