Hi, all,

The male TUFTED DUCK was seen most of the time today from sunrise
through 11 (when I left it with several birders) from Seattle's Montlake
Fill, east of the University of Washington. The bird was easily seen
from the wooden bench on the east side of the loop trail (the map's at
<http://depts.washington.edu/uwbg/docs/UBNAmap.jpg>), where the light
was better in the morning than it would be from off trail. Occasional
kayak visits (and less frequent eagle passes) moved birds to more
distant spots.

Also seen were EURASIAN WIGEON, REDHEAD, a few NORTHERN PINTAIL, a
couple dozen CANVASBACKs, several YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERs, and LINCOLN'S
SPARROW, among else.
