This gentleman looks very much like a guy at Damon Point about mid December who had very poor manners with his 80-200mm lens.
He walked right passed a couple of us and crawled on his knees until the bird flew.
Very appalling behavior, but... even confronting this guy probably won't change his attitude.
If I saw him again I would say something for sure, unchecked.

Compared to 2006, I find a visit to Damon Point no longer holds a good birding experience more than one visit because of the carnival.

There has been some talk of regulating these folks? Doubt it possible. No one is watching.

Where I live on Brady Loop Road in the recent waterfowl seasons we have people shooting well before light and at dark beyond posted legal times.
If we can't protect animals being killed illegally, I doubt we can deter flushing some owls. I mean, these are loud guns they still shoot away as no one will stop them.
This is not a hunting issue, this is a issue of law and illegal activities that are within 6 miles of the regional headquarters fish and game and nothing is done.

Back to the Snowy Owls, we, tweeters, are THE major source of this overcrowding in Ocean Shores. Chasing rare birds is great, sharing it all, to me atleast, increases the traffic and all the responsibility of good and bad behavior sits on the shoulders of those who post. Whatever happens after the word is out is 100% up to the whistleblower.

For this reason, I have chosen not to post any waterfowl rarities during hunting season because ruthless law breaking and I don't want the traffic and would hesitate sharing finds I have seen here and there are some great birds here but I hesitate
to because, quite honestly, theses are wild animals and they are not here to entertain us.

I recommend that going forth we all be more careful and err on the side of caution for the beautiful animals we are so lucky to coexist with.

Just my opinion.
