A couple of winters ago I saw a Bald Eagle circle, and strike
repeatedly at something on the water about 1/4 to 1/2 mile off-shore,
in the middle of Sequim Bay. It finally landed on the water and
started swimming towards the shore in the same fashion as the one seen
in the video. It took a full 15 minutes to reach the shore and I was
dead set of following him in my telescope to see what was in his
talons. He finally got on shore, climbed on a rock, and had a Common
Murre for lunch. I had heard of eagles swimming before, but still
could barely believe my eyes when I saw it.

(I have a photo of it, but it's terribly far away, blurry, and
generally not suitable for public viewing)
