Hello, Natalie, and Tweets,

The two Emperor Geese are still in Dungeness Bay as of today,
2/11/12. They move around quite a bit. We viewed them today first
about 9 a.m. when the geese were feeding and roosting at the the
south end of Graveyard Spit (seen from Dungeness Landing Park), then
about 11 a.m. they were feeding in the water off the mudflats west of
Three Crabs Restaurant, then in the late afternoon they were back in
"Dungeness Harbor," the western section of Dungeness Bay. The
Emperor Geese are easy to pick out, but you'll need a scope to see
them well. They seem to be nibbling eelgrass.

Also look for Common Redpolls at Dungeness. There were 4-5 redpolls
in a siskin flock working in the alders right next to the fire
station in the town of Dungeness.

I also received a report of a well-described adult basic Slaty-backed
Gull at Dungeness Landing Park seen yesterday by John Gatchet, but we
couldn't find it again today at that spot.

Oh, and raptors, too... Our group was the Raptor Class from the
Dungeness River Audubon Center, led by David Drummond. We had great
looks at all the expected species, particularly a beautiful suckleyi
Merlin that posed a long time for all to enjoy at the corner of
Woodcock Rd and Towne Rd.

Good luck! Please let me know if you see the Emperor Geese or
anything else worth noting.
