Tweeters,

Steve Kohl and I headed to Damon Point to see the McKay's Bunting this
morning. We were very glad we did as it took 17 minutes after the 40
minute walk to the area. Our thanks go out to the unnamed couple who
initially found the bunting. We watched for about a half hour from
9:45-10:15. Nice bird and good people behaving well (for the most part).
Always nice to see a life bird without the need for a plane and in fine
weather too! Afterwards, we watched 7 Snowy Owls and loads of people
watching the owls. A surprise were two Rock Sandpipers on the jetty near
the beginning of the beach walk with 17 Surfbirds and 12 Black Turnstones.
The Emperor Goose was on the golf course to the north and west of the
driving range. A nice day of birding.....before noon.

Keep your eyes and ears looking and listening.....everywhere.....

Jim
