Thanks for the information Tweets! The geese (the usual pair, I assume) were "scopeable" from The Three Crabs restaurant mid-morning today. (Hanging out at water's edge west of the restaurant, as previously reported). No Slaty-backed gulls detected among the throng, and the siskin/redpoll crowd didn't show, but with the views of the geese under our belts, neither of us headed home disappointed. It was a great day for a whirlwind birding loop from Bellingham to Edmonds to Sequim and back north via Whidbey and "the flats". Fifty species, a life bird, great conversation around the scope with lovely strangers, zero waiting at both ferry terminals, a well-stretched bladder--you know--an all-around terrific day!
