Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

The Bald Hill BLUE JAY in Corvallis continues to be seen. Another was
reported February 12 at Moore Park in Klamath Falls.

On February 12 a SNOWY OWL was reported along I5 in Vancouver.

A male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was seen February 10 near Brookings. One was at
Waldport February 11, south of Newport February 12, and in Astoria February
12. Apparently there were no concentrations along the south coast as in
other years.

Apparent migrant OSPREYS were reported during the week near Langlois and
near Tillamook. On February 12 a flock of 30 TREE SWALLOWS was at Coquille
along with the wintering VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW. The first TREE SWALLOW of the
season was at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove February 15. Migrant
TURKEY VULTURES are now moving northward.

The wintering MOCKINGBIRD continues in Astoria and the Ilwaco YELLOW-BILLED
LOON is still being seen. On February 12 a SAY?S PHOEBE was at Ridgefield
NWR and another was at Bonneville Dam. The Camas, WA TUFTED DUCK is still
being seen. On February 12 an EMPEROR GOOSE was off the viewing platform on
Sauvie Island. The Rentenaar Road HARRIS?S SPARROW is still being seen, as
is the Cornelius wintering bird. A GOLDEN EAGLE is now being seen on Sauvie
Island. On February 10 a flock of about 355 ROSY-FINCHES were at Mt.
Ashland. All were the Hepburn?s type with one unexpected interior
Gray-crowned.

Up to four PINE GROSBEAKS, 30 REDPOLLS, and 100 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were
seen during the week in the Tumalo Falls area west of Bend. On February 12 a
MOCKINGBIRD was in Klamath Falls and about 12 TREE SWALLOWS were over Moore
Park. That day two REDPOLLS were at Tule Lake NWR in California.

That?s it for this week.
