I have posted a photo of the tip of the wing from that feather pile on the Washington Birding facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Washington-Birding/137712199682582 This section of the wing is about 5.5 inches long, while the wingspan of a McKay's Bunting is 14". That would mean that this bird had over 10" of primary feathers and that only leave a little less than 4" for the inner part of the wings and the body on a bunting. Wilson Cady
