Greetings-

My husband and I drove up from Portland to see the TUFTED DUCK north of
Camas today. It was a life bird for both of us and we got great views of it
diving and crunching snails with a flock of Ring-necked Ducks. We saw it in
the slough that is on the opposite side of the walking path from Round Lake
(close to the parking area). Thanks to previous posters for the good
directions!

On our way home we took a walk at Steigerwald NWR and saw all the usual
waterfowl species, a first year Northern Harrier, lots of GBHs in trees and
two geese in a tree who looked to be scoping out an old Osprey nest.

A quick stop near the sewage ponds in Washougal produced lots of Northern
Shovelers, a Gadwall, Mew Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls. Two ravens flying
over completed our wonderful Washington morning.
