Sitting in the chair musing when I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look, expecting to see one of the resident quail and just about dropped my permanent teeth when I realized it was a Chukar. By the time I got the camera out of the lockbox, I couldn?t see him. After looking out all the windows I finally saw his head poking out past the post on my front porch. It was raining hard and he stayed there for fifteen or more minutes. When the rain let up he moved around the side of the house and I went out the side door where I was able to watch him for some time. He seemed confused about where to go but eventually went into a clump of laurel bushes so me and the cat went back indoors.
