Would Anna's Humminbirds be sitting on eggs already? For about a
week, I had not seen the female who was regularly visiting our
feeder. The difference in sighting frequency was so high that I
thought she had disappeared, but the syrup level in the feeder seems
to be dropping as before. My spousal critter suggested that she was
nesting and making infrequent visits for heavier feedings. I caught a
glimpse a few minutes ago of what was probably a hummingbird zipping
away from our house a few minutes ago, so that might be her.
Our red currant flowers are just starting to open, but I don't think
there were many natural nectar sources nearby a week ago.
