Hi Tweeters,

A friend and I did a GBBC at the Steigerwald Lake NWR this morning. Of
course we had to stop at Round Lake first and check out the Tufted Duck.
He's still there in the slough, near the dam, munching on escargot with the
Ring-necked Ducks. Beautiful bird, and a lifer for me!

The highlight at Steigerwald was a lone female Mountain Bluebird. She was
actively feeding along the refuge boundary fence line on the south side of
Redtail Lake, about a quarter mile west of the Gibbons Creek fish ladder.

1032 individuals, 39 spp. total.
