This afternoon (2-21-12) about 3:30 p.m., despite the rather robust
wind, the American Tree Sparrows were in the path near the northwest
parking lot that is along Russell Road. They then flew into a patch of
wild rose bushes in the field to the left. This was slightly north of
the observation tower. There was a flock of Bushtits in the dogwoods
earlier in the afternoon but no sign of sparrows. Raptors seen were
Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Northern Harrier, and
American Kestrel.
