Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 23. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The bald Hill BLUE JAY in Corvallis continues to be seen.

Migrant SANDHILL CRANES were reported during the week over western Oregon
interior valleys. An OSPREY was at the Tualatin NWR February 19. A SAY?S
PHOEBE was at Baskett Slough NWR February 19. Another was south of Monmouth
the day before.

The Washougal TUFTED DUCK and the Steigerwald NWR MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD continue
to be seen. The Sauvie Island HARRIS?S SPARROW along Rentenaar Road also
continue. On February 21 two ROSS?S GEESE were photographed among the large
SNOW GOOSE flock on the island. On February 21 a REDHEAD, 115 TUNDRA SWANS,
83 CANVASBACK, four TREE SWALLOWS, and one VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW were at the
Fernhill Wetlands. The EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL is still at Coffeelake
Creek in Wilsonville. The wintering MOCKINGBIRDS at Alvadore and in Astoria
continue to be seen. On February 19 a VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW, five BARN
SWALLOWS, and the flock of TREE SWALLOWS were over Fern Ridge Reservoir. A
bright HAMMOND?S FLYCATCHER is now wintering in Ashland.

The WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, PINE GROSBEAKS, and REDPOLLS are still being
seen along Tumalo Creek west of Bend. Last weekend about 400 GRAY-CROWNED
ROSY-FINCHES were near Fort Klamath and seven SNOW BUNTINGS were at Klamath
Marsh. On February 17 two BEWICK?S TUNDRA SWANS were north of Klamath Falls.
The next day two REDPOLLS were at Tulelake NWR and two TRUMPETER SWANS were
at Lower Klamath NWR in California.
