Hello Birders<
Here are some of the Photos I took from out trip to the Okanagon Highlands &
Waterville Plateau.This was the highest number of participation wit 19
birders ,2 birders from the East Coast (Shep's Mother& Brother)2 birder from
California cancel and there was 5 birders on a waiting list.This Year we had
our target birds ,including the Sharp-tailed Grouse 12 birds flying in
before 7.00AM.All the many Redpoll and huge Group of Snow Bunting ,Rosy
Finches, Gyrfalcon,Northern Goshawk. High count on Rough-legged Hawk's,the 3
Long-tailed Ducks, a Merlin.Bohemian Waxwings.The Long eared Owl we saw only
on Friday,As we checked this area out on our trip,we discover the some one
went in the area where there breeding.This bird is so sensitive that we
usual staying on the road with the group.One birder is going around and most
of the time one bird only coming out and flying around, We also saw 4 male
Harrier.All in one most birders put 5 or more species on to there life list.
Do to the new Powder Snow on Friday night the scenery where fantastic
breathtaking.I also like to thank all birders who was so alert to call the
birds what there saw.It was again a pleasure to meet so many good & nice
birders what make this trips so SPECIAL THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!
