My wife and I too k? the Hawaii Forest & Trail store Rain/Dry Forest Tour yesterday.?We haven't t aken many tours but can't imagine being more satisfied than with this one. ?We went to two areas and saw ab out 2 do zen species including 9 endemics , 3 endangered (Akiapola'au, Palila & I'o). Gary, our guide, was very well informed and professional.
I haven't tried it yet, but you might checkout Birding Pals that offers?the possiblity of making connections with local birders (for gas, lunch, etc) ? ?as well as a couple of tours for day trips.
