Sounds to me like a sick siskin.

They have basically taken over the feeders--sometimes it seems as if every siskin in Seattle has been to our backyard--and have been their usual active and feisty selves. Until today. We saw one sitting in the bottom tray of a newly cleaned and filled sunflower seed feeder. Concerned, we approached it. It was slowly eating and actually allowed my husband to touch it gently, although it jumped up and changed its position the first time he touched it. We left for about a half hour and when we returned, there was a pine sisken--possible the same one--still sitting in the feeder tray. We went inside and the next time I looked out the window--maybe half an hour later, it was gone. Very bizarre behavior indeed.
