Went to soak up the sun in the valley today and saw 3 Barn Swallows and 5 Tree Swallows while at the ponds today which is a sure sign of spring! They were viewed from the grassy knoll which also hosted two very vocal Scrub Jays. From the South Tower I were two Meadowlarks feeding in the grass. I also noticed four or five Owl pellets under the tower. The pellets were under the other towers as well. The path between the Middle and North Towers gave great views of a male Kestrel in the sunlight. Also along this path were several Yellow-rumped Warblers and a Lincoln's Sparrow. The herons were in the and around the constructed wetlands and not occupying nests while I was there, although a jogger told me that yesterday they were all occupied with adults. Dipped on the Tree Sparrows today. Amy SchillingerRenton, WASchillingera at hotmail.com
