Subject: [Tweeters] Scriber Creek Green Heron and Off Color Shoveler

Hello all,
I walked around the Scriber Lake/Sprague's Pond/Scriber Creek parks
the last couple of days hoping to stumble upon the Green Heron Ann
Marie Wood reported seeing nearby last week. I did finally find it
hiding next to the trail that connects Scriber Creek Park to the
Lynnwood Transit Center.

The Sprague lake ponds, across the street, held several Ring-Necked
Ducks, American Wigeons, Buffleheads, and Northern Shovelers along
with the usual Mallards and Canadian Geese. Of interest was what I
believe to be a Male Northern Shoveler with uncharacteristic plumage.
I'm not particularly familiar with this species in general, but the
plumage looks closest to the adult fall plumage pictured in Sibley's.
Not sure if this is particularly uncommon to see this plumage this
time of year, but I thought I'd mention it since I have a decent
