My first bird was either an Anna's hummingbird (possibly the most popular first bird this year?) that was at the feeder or a black-capped chickadee that was getting a drink from the "par-a-sol" from which the hummingbird feeder hangs. Poor Scott, who looked out earlier, has a flock of starlings as his first birds of the year.
