Having got up a little late this morning due to stomach cramps all night (why???.... not from drinking), I was just about to head out of the bedroom door when my husband came yelling down the hall.... Redpoll Redpoll. Sure enough we had a COMMON REDPOLL sitting on the twigs I tied to the deck. I took photos then it moved down to the feeders to eat sunflower chips with the Lesser Goldfinches it was with. This is our first Clark County Common Redpoll let a lone our yard bird. A great way to start the year.

My husband and I are in a Washington Big Year Competition with Eric & Tammy Bjorkman doing a Fund Raiser for Vancouver Audubon our local chapter. Just having the Redpoll as our first bird of the year for the list is quite rewarding already and we have 365 (leap year) more days to go.
